Veterans Day

Or Remembrance Day if you are in Canada, and Armistice Day in many other countries.

This is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I (the last signature was obtained from Germany on November 11, 1918). Originally proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919 to commemorate WWI vets, the holiday was expanded in 1953 to include all military veterans regardless of what war they fought in.

Happy Veterans Day to our armed forces!
