MRE to go

I am doing my Christmas shopping a little at a time, and today I stopped in to the Army/Navy Surplus and picked up some MRE’s for those difficult-to-buy-for folks on my list. It’s a practical gift, and everyone has to eat, right? What could be more convenient than shelf-stable food in single portions that don’t require heating or can openers? Packed with calories, you can get your entire daily ration in a few small bites – saving valuable time for other endeavors like fighting off bears.

And they come in surprisingly good-sounding varieties, like vanilla pound cake and brownie with chocolate chip. Of course, there was also the less tempting vegetable patty in BBQ sauce. I didn’t get one of those.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
