Do-over

I’m a little concerned that the New Year already includes a do-over in the knitting department. That lovely burgundy cardigan I just started? Yeah, it took a trip to the frog pond. Turns out my gauge was so very, very wrong that any hope I might have harbored about the finished garment actually fitting me went right up in smoke.  I have found that the best remedy for such negative progress is to not dwell on it but to instead forge on and so I immediately cast on again, with smaller needles and at a tighter gauge. I am trying valiantly not to pout about the lost hours and instead focus on how mad I would have been had I finished the sweater under such glaring gauge denial. At least I was only one skein in.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
