Wooly thoughts

This is my latest batch of wool off the wheel: 8 oz of two-ply wool in a luscious blackberry purple with shades of blue and burgundy. It’s gorgeous and soft and squishy… This ended up a slightly bulky weight, and I haven’t counted the yardage yet. I’m thinking it needs to be a Robin’s Egg PURPLE Hat – yes? With a big ol’ funky button? If there’s enough yardage I will also whip up a small pair of fingerless mitts, but I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself.  Hat first.

I don’t have much more fiber stashed… Next out of the box will be a bag of the same wool as this purple, but in a burgundy base.  After that, I have some green pencil roving and a bag of cut something-or-other uncolored wool, which will probably spin up on the rustic side (read: lumpy). There’s a couple ounces of soy fiber, which would probably make a nice lace cowl, and a bag of black alpaca that I’m hoarding. I’ve been trolling Etsy in the evenings, lining up a wish list of fiber to purchase if I get any money back on my tax return. Fingers crossed.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
