Gritty remains

One of my least favorite things about winter is the sandy grit that gets scattered on the roads when it snows, and ends up in bike lanes and on sidewalks when the snow melts a couple days later. The street sweepers don’t clean the sidewalks or bike lanes, so those of us not in cars end up dealing with this nasty residue for months. It is terribly slippery, gets stuck in your shoe tread, and makes bike riding treacherous (so bike riders instead ride in the driving lane). I wish the folks at the City would come out and experience this firsthand.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure.
