Super stripes

After doing my gauge and measurements and getting half of this sock knit, I went looking for a refresher on turning the heel. I pulled out my “Knitting Rules” (by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee) and was pleasantly surprised to see that my stitch count exactly matched her “good, plain sock pattern”. How convenient that I didn’t have to do any math and could just follow her stitch counts for the heel!

Sadly, I’m not very good at following directions, and didn’t notice until I got all the way down to the toe that I have four extra stitches in the foot. These are not for me, but they don’t seem too loose around the foot, so I’m not going to rip back – I just need to be sure I make the second sock the same.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
