Independence Day

Happy Fourth of July! Today Americans celebrate our independence from Great Britain with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. How do we celebrate? Why, with BBQ’s, potlucks, parades, picnics, fireworks, and lots of beer, of course!

A few history tidbits: Calvin Coolidge is the only U.S. president to be born on July 4th (in 1872), but John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4th, 1826 and James Monroe died on July 4th, 1831.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
