Windmilling around

I uncovered some quilts-in-progress, and decided to see just how far I got before I shelved them. This top is fully pieced and bordered:

It’s a square quilt roughly 60″ across, and would make a good lap or baby blanket. I’ll need to find or buy backing and binding. I had a stack of additional windmill blocks that I quickly sewed into strips this morning:

I will make this one rectangular, but I have to find material to use around the border edges because it isn’t very big right now – it doesn’t even cover the dining table. I will probably put sashing strips between the blocks, too.
Chris asked me what I had in mind when I sewed these blocks and I had to admit that I don’t have any idea… It’s been years and years since I put these together. Feels good to be finishing projects.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
