Give a little

This week I packed my lunch every single day, and today I donated the money I would have spent if I’d eaten out. It adds up, let me tell you. And the cost of five lunches purchased in downtown Seattle can do a lot more good when put into the hands of a charitable organization.

My charity of choice: Doctors Without Borders (Medicins Sans Frontieres).  I subscribe to the Yarn Harlot blog and she keeps a running total of how much her fellow knitters have donated to DWB/MSF (over a million dollars to date!); her challenge is for us to set aside the money we would have spent on “wants” for one week, and donate it.

Here’s a fun button courtesy of the Yarn Harlot; clicking on it will take you right to the DWB website where you can learn all about the organization.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
