Celtic cross start

I started a hat for myself! The band is knit first, and then stitches are picked up around the top edge to knit the crown. The shape will be like a pillbox, with a rolled hem at the bottom. The hat pattern is a DROPS Design but the chart for the cable was impossible to read, so I hunted up a different (better) one that fit the stitch count. A quick stash dive turned up a skein of malabrigo sock yarn, and away I went. This picture is of one full repeat of the cable chart.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
