So, during our pantry remodel Chris had to move the thermostat. He knows what he’s doing, he does plenty of electrical work, so it’s extra frustrating that the furnace decided not to turn back on when he hooked the thermostat up in its new location this weekend. It wasn’t too bad on Sunday because the house had plenty of residual heat and it’s not that cold outside (cool, yes, but it’s above freezing).
By Monday morning, though, it was getting a bit chilly and we lit a fire to combat the cold. Thank goodness we have a fireplace. We all put on extra clothes and I swapped out my small knitting projects for something larger – an afghan – to help keep me warm while I watched a little TV; Amelia quickly figured out where she would be warmest and tunneled under the blanket on my lap. It wasn’t as cold as this picture makes it look; I was working on the blanket and it had gotten sort of piled up on her and she didn’t mind one bit.
