Here we go again

It’s Monday!

I have a pretty big bruise and some residual swelling from where I smacked my knee into the corner of the bathroom counter; I don’t bruise easily, so to have any visible evidence of trauma is a pretty big deal. It’s gone that lovely greenish-yellow color across the top of my knee. Good thing black goes with everything.

Our furnace is back up and operating as it should. Despite this, the cats continue to find warm and cozy places to sleep — like on top of our clean towels…

In knitting news, I’m making good progress on that green baby cardigan. The body is knit (though I’m not 100% happy with the button band, may have to modify it a bit) and now I’m working on the sleeves.

(it’s practically impossible to capture the true color of this sweater; it’s a blue-green called “Pines”.)

And finally, we are ready for some new cabinets in the pantry. The fridge cubby is built, the fridge is tucked inside, and all that’s left is a couple of small finish items (run the water line for the ice maker, and put up the baseboard trim). Now we impatiently await the cabinets that will go over the fridge and along the wall on the left.

(the blue will be covered by cabinets and a tiled back-splash)

What you can’t see is the other 3/4 of the kitchen, which is not getting any work done at this time. I’m not showing it because it now includes not only the original contents of that side of the kitchen, but also the contents of the pantry side where we are working… Suffice it to say, it’s a big mess.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
