A good evening

T’was a potentially miserable commute home – pedestrian/train accident caused major delays – but it ended up far better than I expected. First of all, amidst a sea of several hundred stranded travelers, I ran into my sister-in-law and we boarded a bus together. Our paths never cross like that, and it was nice to have someone to talk with. My husband picked us up, and waiting for me at home was a package of organic, heirloom seeds that I ordered.

I got dinner going, and wrote a thank-you note to an etsy vendor for the beautiful tiles she made for me (check her out on Etsy). I got three to put up in the kitchen; they are all similar and add a much-needed pop of color:

And then we sat down to a nice dinner of teriyaki chicken, rice pilaf, Caesar salad, and beer bread. Plus an extra beer for me. After dinner, perhaps I’ll curl up with a book, a cat, and a cup of tea. Laundry can wait until tomorrow.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
