Floor time

We are redoing a bedroom so that our daughter can go in there (it’s bigger than her current room), and today was Strip, Sand, and Patch The Floor Day. After my walk, we rented a floor sander and spent several hours sanding it down. Thank goodness it was such a lovely day so we could have the windows open!

We just finished patching the floor – it took quite a bit of filler, because the floor was in really bad shape. Tomorrow morning we’ll lightly sand again, and then it will be ready for the sealer. We aren’t staining the floor, it’s a lovely honey oak from 1941, with nice grain.

Here it is right now, pretty much completely covered by filler. Most of that was sanded off.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
