Hermione loves Ron in pink

The Girl asked for a pink hat, with cables. Pink is not something I generally wear or knit – so I bought three different skeins of pink yarn and let her pick her favorite. She chose a Cascade 220 Superwash Paint, which is light worsted. I then set out to find a cabled hat pattern that would work with this variegated yarn. My first choice was written for a heavier yarn and for whatever reason, my mathing wasn’t working out and the hat ended up way too small and I didn’t love the way the variegated was working out anyway. Rather than make a second go at it, I looked for a new pattern and ran across Hermione Hearts Ron. This has simple cables separated by eyelet panels, which gives the hat lots of stretch.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
