I got the blue socks knit to the ankle, and then tried them on. They fit!

Problem is, they aren’t for me… and the recipient’s feet are a little bigger than mine, so this wasn’t a good thing. I briefly thought about keeping these for myself and starting a new pair, but the ticking Christmas clock won out and so I ripped them back below the gussets and added a little length to the foot before reknitting the gussets and heels.

I was so irritated at having to rip them back and overwhelmed with trying to figure out how to deal with all that frogged yarn (I pull from both ends of the same ball) that I decided to reknit them individually. The first sock is to about where I’ll start the top cuff, so it’s on hold while the second sock catches up. I turned the heel tonight and got about an inch of the leg done. When sock #2 catches up with sock #1, I’ll put them both back onto one needle and finish them together.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
