Color theory
What does one do, when faced with the goal of Knitting From Stash (specifically: rotate the stock / use up old yarn) and one quickly finds that the stash contains an alarming quantity of small skeins, early purchases of sock … Continue reading

Wakey wakey!
With all the crazy weather going on the rest of the country, I know I shouldn’t complain about our winter. It’s been vacillating between freezing and balmy, which is irritating but doesn’t seem to be doing the plants any harm. … Continue reading

Heel
Trying to find the silver lining in yesterday’s hellish commute (it sucked): it did give me additional knitting time. I turned the heel and knit the heel flap, and am a few rounds into the leg of the pink sock. … Continue reading

Mass hysteria
The region has gone crazy, and I am doing my level best to stay out of the way. Hundreds of thousands of football fans are descending on downtown Seattle (some camped overnight along the parade route), making the commute to … Continue reading

The sock that won’t be stopped
Perhaps I’m just being thick-headed, but I am determined to make these socks, with this yarn. It (the sock) now has three strikes against it, but I believe in fourth chances. Hopelessly optimistic, that’s me. Strike one was a broken … Continue reading
