Sunday sewing

In amongst a birthday breakfast, a run, helping the Mr. install a new fan in the bathroom, making dinner, and book club — I pieced a quilt top. Well, not the entire top; it needs borders still, but the center panel is done.  I started with two jelly rolls, and pieced the strips together.

Then I had to cut the corners off to make one long continuous strip.

And then you bring the two ends together and sew. And again, and again, not doing anything to line up colors and just letting the strips fall where they will — until you get something like this:

At first I was not thrilled with how the colors were lining up, but you know what? It’s growing on me. Now I have to decide how to edge it.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
