I caved and started a new project, despite the tower of WIPs in my craft room. It’s an Ondine shawl, in Opal and Amethyst colorways (yarn by FiddleKnits). It is very difficult to capture the opal-ness of the Opal yarn; it’s a cream with bits of blue, green, yellow, and purple in it — perfectly capturing the iridescent color changes of real opals (which happen to be my birthstone!). When I start adding the Amethyst in, perhaps that will help bring out those small bits of color.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
