Yakity yak

I finished that grey cowl, and I also finished a project from the hibernating WIP box – so I felt justified in casting on a new project last night.

This is a Pretty Thing cowl, which I am knitting in yak – my son bought me two ounces of the fiber and I spun it into 168 yards of fingering weight yarn. It should be just enough for the cowl. The yak fiber was challenging for me to spin, but it’s got a nice feel – soft with a little heft. I was unsure if my uneven spinning would work in this lace pattern, but I think it’s going just fine.
Happy Friday!

Good thing you didn’t zoom in. LOL! It’s not too bad, but there are definite lumps here and there. Just makes it more cozy!

  3. That looks like a lovely project, and totally justifiable 🙂
