Something new

I dug six skeins of a wool/cotton/llama yarn out of the stash and cast on a sleeveless top for myself. According to the pattern, my stitch gauge and yardage was a fine substitution. In reality, it was a very poor match – my yarn didn’t have the necessary drape, and my row gauge must have been way off because I was going through the yarn too quickly.
So, I frogged the thing and started something new with the yarn – and it seems a much better match. I’m now making a poncho for myself; I really like the simple cables running up the four corners of the poncho.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
