No thumbs

This year I have several folks on my gift list who are getting fingerless mitts. Thing is, I don’t really like making the thumbs.

Thumbs are fiddly, and I can’t make both at the same time, and they leave two additional yarn ends to weave in on each mitt. I like thumbs in general, I’m a big fan of how they allow me to hold a cup of coffee; it’s just the knitting of them that isn’t so great.

So I’m carrying around two pairs in my knitting bag, and I’m rather embarrassed to admit there is a third thumbless pair at home, waiting for me to get into the thumbs-making mood.
Sigh.

Maybe I should have chosen fingerless mitts that were also thumbless.

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.

  1. Unfortunately, it’s just one of those things you need to just knuckle down and get on with!
