Productively unproductive

A lazy weekend at the cabin turned out to have quite a bit of activity.

We went on a hike on Sunday (which nicely took the place of my scheduled run), among the ski runs. They look a little eerie in high summer. It was really warm and extremely dry, with lots of dead underbrush, and dust coating everything – but the view from the summit was breathtaking.

(“These signs sure are high!”)

Monday we went on a walk to watch a train go by on a nearby trestle. We’ve been to this spot many times and don’t often get to be there when a train is.

Even with all that, I finished not one, but two knitting projects as well as the book I brought. We are back home now, putting stuff away and doing laundry; it was great to get away for a few days!

About wonkydonkey

You want random? You got it. Mostly knitting and gardening, with some home improvements, pets, baking, family, and the occasional bad joke thrown in for good measure. This blog is mine; it is a place where I can insist upon proper grammar or break my own rules and degrade into slang on a whim. Either way, it's still mine. I love the Internet.
