Spun

Saturday’s spinning project is done and dry; approximately 169 yards of heavy worsted. My Navajo ply skills aren’t fantastic so it’s not the smoothest, but still very usable yarn. Should be enough for a simple hat.

Time for a little spin

My belly is still not quite back to normal, so I’m taking it easy today and I thought I’d dust off the spinning wheel. I asked The Girl what I should spin and she said purple, so here we go. … Continue reading

Stripes – sometimes they work

It pleases me to no end that I am capable of spinning yarn that is knitable. I really enjoy spinning, but I’m not a technical fanatic so my results vary. Sometimes they vary widely, and in no way can I … Continue reading

Fiber update

Since it’s been warm, my knitting projects have been small. I finished two cowls, both the same pattern (Artistry Cowl) but different yarns. I also got a bit of spinning done, for a change. One project was a mixed batt … Continue reading

Happy New Year!

We had ourselves a quiet little New Year’s Eve at home; we made potato skins, drank lemon drops (the Girl had sparkling fruit juice), watched My Cousin Vinnie, and I spun up the rest of the green hank of Blue … Continue reading

In the groove

Muscle memory is an amazing thing. Though it’s been months, my hands remembered how to spin and I did up a quick 109-yard, worsted-weight skein today (no pic, it’s still damp) and started on another hank. It’s 4 oz of … Continue reading
